Battery Operated Lamps Come Of Age With LEDs

Once upon a time battery operated lamps were power hungry devices that chewed through your batteries so fast that it just wasn't worth the time for the amount of light they put out. It's for this reason that gas lanterns are still the method of choice for getting super bright light that is actually useful.

Fluorescent lights have changed that somewhat but the amount of light produced still isn't as bright or as far reaching as some gas lanterns.

With the invention of the L.E.D (light emitting diode) we are one step closer to getting useful light on our camping trips. Using a cluster of LEDs in a lamp or torch produces a light which is not only bright but is economical on power as well.

If you use a solar panel to charge a reasonable size lead acid battery or SLA you have a source of renewable energy that will not run out with proper budgeting of your power use.

An LED battery operated lamp that can charge off a 12 volt source will give you ample light night after night without you having to worry about running out of battery power.

Here is an awesome option for those who like to get useful light but don't want to risk dangerous gas canisters or hot flames because of kids. You can learn more at Panadela LED lights.

A major advantage of battery operated lamps that use LEDs is not only the efficient power usage but also the fact that they last for so long they probably won't need replacing for the life of the lantern. They are also not as fragile as glass globes which can shatter when dropped.
